Over the last week H-Trailcrew has been busy. Moved the firewood off the East deck at Hankin Hut so feel free to move a chair out there on warm, sunny spring days. Shovelled off the snow overhangs on the roof so safe to walk around without fear of getting pounded by snow from above. We’ve also kept up with the never ending chore of testing snow and I must say its been a great week. Another 20cm of fresh in the bowl today and Runs 4 and 6 have been excellent. We see John out periodically and he is keeping the road in good shape. Joe and Jay were flagging on the Lookout Run today and we are all hoping H-team gets a faller started on cutting this run.We did a few snow tests today and managed to kick out a fairly big slide just beyond Christmas tree bowl (Crown was 40m X 50cm deep, debris was 30 m’s wide with a max deposition of 2 metres). Also ski cut a small slide out of Hut Chute 2. Typical spring weather right now with a mix of snow squall and sunshine all day. Encourage everyone to be extra cautious with the new snow loading onto (obviously overloading) weaker layers in the existing snowpack. Good cross loading on steep chutes/gully’s with fat side pulling out easily.Cheers
